Fighting cancer is an uphill battle, and while the staff here at Golden State Cancer Center is committed to being with you every step of the way, we recognize how cancer changes the lives of our patients- and this can be difficult. This is why, at the end of your treatment, we want to celebrate your victory with you! Upon the completion of your last radiation therapy session, we will hold a graduation ceremony for you, your family, friends, and caretakers to attend. This ceremony marks the end of a long fought battle, and the beginning of a healthy life ahead!

Edward Mitterlehner

Graduation Date: February 2011
Late in 2010, Edward Mitterlehner and his wife Carrollee Received word that he had prostate cancer. Shortly after, they consulted with Dr. Mehta in the medical Center. Together, they made the choice for Edward to receive radiation therapy with the goal of curing his cancer. Therapy would be every day...no small feat as they lied three hours away from our center. Cancer Navigator Ulysses Days helped them find housing near the center, and Edward and Carrollee made every appointment. They also kept all of us at the Cancer Center in line! Fast forward eight and a half weeks to see Edward and Carrollee celebrating the completion of his therapy with us. A little teary0eyed, but a happy, happy day. We have a picture to prove it!
